"It's hard to describe how much the national team has meant to me. It's, of course, an incredible pride to have played so many international matches and championships, and it's been so much fun along the way," Hagman tells the national handball team's website.

Hagman has 259 international caps. Roberts, team captain since 2022, has donned the national team jersey 271 times - more than anyone else.

"From sitting on the bench and being labeled as circus horses and jokers, today we are the ones who have played the most international matches of all time. It has meant a lot to have been given the honor of playing for the national team, not everyone gets that," says Roberts.

The blue and yellow team failed at the World Cup last winter and are facing a major generational change. The national team has already secured a place in the European Championship at the end of the year, even though the qualifiers have not yet been completed.

Nathalie Hagman and Jamina Roberts will play their last international matches when the European Championship qualifiers end, against Ukraine (April 8, in Slovakia) and Lithuania (April 12, in Kosta).
