Jakob Ingebrigtsen, Olympic Games and World Championship gold medalist, has published a picture of where he and his wife are holding the couple's daughter in each hand.
To the picture, he writes, among other things:
”This is Filippa. She is special. Most of all because she is my daughter. I am lucky to have achieved many of my goals. But the goal I care most about is that Filippa will love and respect me for her upbringing".
He then continues:
”I will love and respect her unconditionally. Filippa is my inspiration”.
Jakob testified during the trial against Gjert Ingebrigtsen about an upbringing marked by physical and mental abuse. He claimed, among other things, that his dad had hit him and his siblings and that his dad had been controlling and threatening.
Gjert Ingebrigtsen was acquitted of assault against Jakob but was convicted of the same crime against his daughter to 15 days of conditional imprisonment and 10,000 kronor in fines.
