The Norwegian running star Jakobs Ingebrigtsen is registered for 5,000 meters at the World Championship in Tokyo.
I have been told to register him, so I have done that now. It has gone well here in recent days, so it looks like he will start, says Erlend Slokvik at the Norwegian athletics association to NRK according to SVT.
Ingebrigtsen has missed large parts of the season with Achilles tendon problems. On 1,500 meters, the reigning champion did not even advance from the heats, and it was unclear whether he would participate on 5,000 meters.
The 24-year-old took Olympic Games gold on 5,000 meters in Paris 2024 and has two World Championship golds on the distance.
