Influencer and boxer Jake Paul lost his fight with former British heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua. The Briton won via knockout. "I think my jaw is broken," Paul said after the fight.

AFP describes the Netflix-backed match as mediocre, at times even farcical, with Paul falling to the ground several times and grabbing Joshua's legs. In the fourth round, referee Christopher Young lost patience:

"The fans didn't pay to see this shit," he told the two boxers.

Jake Paul made it to the sixth round, when the heavier Anthony Joshua decided the match via knockout.

"I got beat up, but that's how it is in this sport," says Jake Paul, according to The Guardian.

It was so hard to handle his weight. I think if I had been in better shape I could have held on and kept fighting. But he was amazing, he really hits hard.

Anthony Joshua did what he was meant to do, writesThe Guardian : "he ruined Jake Paul's bravest and most controversial boxing experiment" with a victory described not as a sporting result but as "a restoration of sanity".

Enormous money is involved. According to unconfirmed reports in Aftonbladet , Anthony Joshua took home 870 million kronor. According to reports in AFP, the two men will split 184 million dollars.

Last fall, Paul, 28, won the super fight against the middle-aged Mike Tyson, who was 58 at the time. A match that became controversial due to the age difference.

Paul previously made his name as a YouTuber, but in recent years has defeated a number of retired MMA and boxing stars who, in several cases, were significantly older than himself.

Anthony Joshua, however, at 36 years old, is one of the exceptions in this context. The match was his first in 15 months. Joshua landed 48 hits to Jake Paul's 16.
