"The feeling has emerged even more during the season that has passed, somewhere at the end of January I and Niklas (Wikegård, sports manager) started talking about this. It's primarily my own initiative to try to give it a chance to come back to doing what I love most", he says to the club's website.

Since Josefson put his skates on the shelf in the summer, he has "really wanted to play ice hockey again". The concussion problems have improved over the past time and the center has physically recovered.

"Feeling as good as ever"

"For a year and a half now, I've been feeling as good as ever, in line with that, I've increased my training and felt a sick craving for hockey", continues Josefson.

The 34-year-old Stockholm native has recently been the assistant sports manager in Djurgården. A club that is now back in SHL after the Hockey Allsvenskan final win against AIK.

"We are, of course, very motivated for this and want to meet Jacobs' wishes, by him getting to train with the squad during the preseason", says Djurgården's sports manager Niklas Wikegård to the website.

"Evaluate"

"Then we'll jointly evaluate and see where this takes us", he continues.

Josefson was raised in Djurgården and made several senior seasons in the club before moving to the NHL. In North America, it was eight seasons before he returned to Djurgården.
