It was during Mattia Furlani's first attempt that the accident occurred. On one of the last steps to the board, he stepped through and the jump was unsuccessful.
After the jump, he grabbed the back of his thigh, grimaced, and then sat down in obvious pain. But it took several minutes before the Italian received medical attention. It stirred emotions in SVT's commentary booth.
"I can't believe this. I think it's beyond criticism, someone should come running in these situations," says SVT commentator Jacob Hård.
