Jack Berglund Scores Late and Decides Shootout in Rikard Grönborg’s Tre Kronor Return

New national team captain Rikard Grönborg saw Tre Kronor beat the Czech Republic 3–2 on penalties in Prague.

During his previous stint as national team coach, Rikard Grönborg led Sweden to two World Championship gold medals. His return was a thrilling story.

Färjestad defender Filip Roos gave Tre Kronor the lead in the first period, but the Czech Republic turned the game around in the second. With four minutes left in the third period, Roos' clubmate Jack Berglund stepped up and scored on the power play to make it 2–2. The game went to overtime and then a penalty shootout.

Once again, Berglund was the standout, deciding the shootout.

Switzerland (November 7) and Finland (November 8) are next in the tournament. However, both games will be played in Helsinki.
