Stenberg was selected second in this summer's draft when the world's top ice hockey league picked its prospects.
In July, the 18-year-old signed a three-year contract with San Jose and, even though it was only in a preseason game, the former Frölunda star appears to have settled in North America.
The forward scored a hat trick when Anaheim visited and were crushed 10-0. Stenberg scored the 2-0 goal and then made it 6-0 with a wrist shot. His third goal, for 9-0, came from a tight angle on the power play.
Stenberg also had an assist. Fellow Swede Filip Bystedt was credited with a goal and an assist.
Anaheim fielded a young team. For example, star Leo Carlsson was left at home.
