SKF's board has decided that the automotive business of the bearing giant will be listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange in 2026. The share rose 5.1 percent after the announcement.
Other shares among the most traded in the OMXS30 index that went up were the investment company Kinnevik and the heat pump manufacturer Nibe, up 6.4 and 6.2 percent, respectively.
But the upswing was broad: 25 of the 30 OMXS30 shares closed on the plus side.
Among today's losers was Dometic, a manufacturer of cooker hoods and wine coolers, whose share plummeted over 11 percent after a profit warning.
The major European stock exchanges performed strongly, with index increases of around 0.5 percent in Frankfurt, London, and Paris.
An unexpectedly strong retail sales figure from the USA provided some support to market interest rates ahead of the heavy interest rate decisions coming this week.
Japan's central bank is not expected to adjust the interest rate until the end of the year. But when it comes to this week's interest rate decisions from the US central bank Federal Reserve, the focus is on a cut, the first in four years. But the question is whether it will be 0.25 percentage points or a so-called double cut of 0.50 percentage points.
The Stockholm Stock Exchange closed almost unchanged on Monday and has risen 9.9 percent since the turn of the year with Tuesday's upswing.
