Italy says it stopped Russian cyberattacks against Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics

Italy has stopped a series of Russian cyberattacks against the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics.

Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said this, according to Italian media.

"We have prevented a series of cyberattacks, including Winter Olympics sites, such as hotels in Cortina," Tajani said during a trip to Washington, adding that the cyberattacks were of Russian origin.

Russian cyberattacks against the Olympics are common. There have been reports of such attacks since the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics.
