The power outages resulting from storm Johannes may cause difficulties calling 112 in parts of Västernorrland, Dalarna, Jämtland and Gävleborg counties, the county administrative board tells P4 Västernorrland.
The reason is that long-term or extensive disruptions to the electricity supply can lead to interruptions in the mobile phone network - which in turn affects the ability to reach 112.
According to the county administrative board, removing and reinserting the SIM card in the mobile phone may allow calls to go through if they are not working as usual.
