The denial-of-service attack occurred on Thursday morning. A few hours later, the website was accessible again.
"However, the region continues to see an abnormal traffic flow and the IT department, together with the service providers, is monitoring the events in order to be able to take measures if necessary," Region Västerbotten writes in a press release.
The fact that the website was down primarily affected the ability to search for information, but it did not affect the ability to seek care.
