Iran said on Sunday night that two university campuses in the country were recently attacked by the United States and Israel. The Revolutionary Guard is now threatening to retaliate against what it describes as "American universities" in the region.
"If the US government wants its universities in the region to avoid reprisals, it must condemn the bombing of the universities in an official statement by 12:00 on Monday, March 30, Tehran time," reads a statement published by Iranian media, according to AFP.
Overnight, attacks continued across the Middle East. The Israeli military said on Telegram around midnight that it had identified incoming missiles from Iran.
Kuwait's military also said the country's air defenses had engaged missiles and drones overnight.
On Saturday, the Iran-backed Houthi movement confirmed that it had entered the war. In connection with this, missiles and drones have been fired at Israel.
Corrected: An earlier version of the text stated an inaccuracy about a missile attack from Yemen.
