Israel's next government should urge Palestinians to leave the West Bank, according to Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich.

In the long term, there is no other solution, said right-wing extremist Smotrich at a conference aimed at strengthening Israel's control over the occupied West Bank, according to Haaretz.

Smotrich, who lives in an Israeli settlement in the West Bank, also said the goal is to repeal the Oslo Accords, which aim for a peaceful two-state solution.

In recent weeks, Israel has taken several measures to strengthen its control over the area, despite criticism from the UN and others.

Since October 7, 2023, violence in the occupied territories has increased, with more aggressive attacks by illegal Israeli settlers.
