Israel has attacked Yemen's rebel-controlled capital Sanaa from the air, according to both Israel and the Houthi's TV channel al-Masirah.

The attacks come a day after at least 20 people were injured in a drone attack at the resort town of Eilat in southern Israel, according to Israeli reports. According to the Israeli military, the drone was launched from Yemen and the Houthi movement later took responsibility for the attack.

According to AFP, Thursday's Israeli attack on Sanaa was carried out just before al-Masirah began broadcasting the pre-recorded speech of rebel leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi.

Israel's Defense Minister Israel Katz writes on X that Israel "delivered a powerful blow to several terrorist targets belonging to Houthi's terrorist organization in Sanaa.” Katz claims at the same time that dozens of people belonging to the movement were killed and that drone and weapons warehouses were also destroyed.

The Houthi movement claims that at least eight people were killed and 140 injured in Israel's attack.
