Israel's air force has launched "violent" attacks on eastern Lebanon, reports the state-run Lebanese NNA. At least four people have been killed in various attacks on Thursday.

On pictures, smoke columns are seen rising towards the sky in the Bekaadalen near the Syrian border, after what is described as a wave of attacks.

The attacks are confirmed by Israel's military, which claims to have attacked, among other things, the Shia militia Hizbollah's training camp. According to Israel, the facility was used to plan and practice for attacks against Israel, reports The Times of Israel.

A facility for robot manufacturing was also attacked, states Israel's military, as well as a "military site" in northern Lebanon.

At least two people were killed in the attack in eastern Lebanon, and another two died in an attack in Nabatieh in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanese authorities.

Since Israel and Hizbollah entered into a ceasefire in November last year, Israel has continued to bomb targets in Lebanon, mainly in the southern parts but also in the capital Beirut. Attacks in eastern and northern Lebanon are more rare.
