"We are very firmly determined to hit Hizbollah as hard as possible, and see, we have knocked out their entire higher command level", says Israel's military chief Herzi Halevi in the statement.
Several high-ranking officials within Iran-backed Hizbollah have been killed in Israeli attacks in Lebanon recently, including leader Hassan Nasrallah and likely also the intended successor Hashem Safieddine.
On Friday, Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni calls Israel's attacks on the UN peacekeeping forces in southern Lebanon "unacceptable".
Meloni is the first head of state or government to visit Lebanon since the escalated clashes between Israel and Hizbollah started last month.
Italy has around 1,000 soldiers as part of the UN peacekeeping force in Lebanon, which has been subject to repeated shelling in recent days.
I believe it is unacceptable to target Unifil, and I ask once again that all parties strive to always ensure the safety of each and every one of these soldiers is guaranteed, says Meloni at a press conference in Beirut.
At the same time, the Prime Minister says she is "convinced" that Unifil must be strengthened.
Only by strengthening Unifil while maintaining its impartiality will we be able to turn the page on the war.
