The attacks took place in the Dahiyeh district of Beirut. Israel said the attacks were aimed at the Islamist Hezbollah's production of drones.

Lebanon accuses Israel of violating the agreed ceasefire that prevails. President Joseph Aoun condemned the attack and said it was a "flagrant breach" of the ceasefire that should prevail and against international rules. Prime Minister Nawaf Salam also condemned the Israeli raids.

Lebanon's news agency ANI said the district was hit by about a dozen attacks, two of which were "very violent".

The attacks followed a call for evacuation on Thursday afternoon from the Israeli military's spokesperson Avichay Adraee:

"You are near facilities that belong to the terrorist organization Hezbollah". He says residents should stay more than 300 meters away from "these buildings".

After the warning, many residents fled the area, traffic came to a standstill with queuing cars trying to get away from the neighborhoods.

Israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah agreed to a ceasefire on November 27 after months of intense fighting and extensive Israeli attacks on targets in Lebanon.
