Israel's military reports that they have attacked a group of "Palestinian terrorists" in southern Gaza Strip – despite the prevailing ceasefire.

The Palestinians crossed, according to Israel, the so-called yellow line, the border behind which Israel's soldiers have withdrawn in accordance with the first phase of the peace plan.

According to the military, they posed a threat to Israeli forces, reports The Times of Israel. However, it is not clear in what way.

The statement comes after Palestinian reports of a deadly Israeli attack near Khan Yunis on Monday morning. Two people are said to have been killed.
