Israeli military announced on Thursday evening that attacks had been carried out against military targets in southern and eastern Lebanon, despite a ceasefire still prevailing after the agreement in November between Israel and the militant Islamist Hezbollah movement.
Attacks were carried out against the "Bekaa area in eastern Lebanon where Hezbollah activity was detected". The attack was directed against "a terrorist infrastructure underground" according to a statement from the Israeli military.
Israeli attacks were also carried out against suspected rocket launch pads in southern Lebanon.
The state-controlled news agency NNA reports that "enemy aircraft" attacked the eastern slopes of the mountain range near the city of Janta in Bekaa.
