Arab officials say according to The Wall Street Journal that they have been asked to forward a message to Iran: Israel believes it will soon have achieved its military goals in Iran, and if Iran then stops attacking, the war is over.
It's up to Iran, not us, an Israeli source has said to The Times of Israel.
We would be satisfied with stopping now.
The signals come after the US military intervention over the weekend, with heavy bombings of Iranian nuclear facilities. The Israeli sources believe that Iran feels forced to respond to this, and therefore is not ready to let the guns fall silent just yet.
And as long as the war is going on, Israel does not intend to hold back. The extensive attacks carried out against Tehran on Monday are to be seen as a warning that Israel is prepared to continue undermining Iran's regime, say sources in Jerusalem to the news portal Walla.
According to Walla, the supreme leader Ali Khamenei is believed to be a brake on the forces in Iran that want to stop waging war.
