The information on Monday came after Lebanon's state news agency NNA reported that Israel had carried out extensive bombings in the southern part of the country.
“A huge explosion was heard in Mansouri in the Tyre region,” NNA reported, followed by several explosions in nearby villages. The information was confirmed by AFP reporters on the scene, who reported smoke rising after the explosion and that large parts of Mansouri were destroyed.
Authorities in Lebanon repeatedly accuse Israel of systematically destroying parts of smaller towns in southern Lebanon, often targeting schools, religious sites, and water and electricity facilities.
