The Gaza plan was announced on Friday. The US president called the deal “a monumental step towards lasting peace and security.”
On Monday, the council clarified what applies in relation to the Israeli military's IDF withdrawal:
"Contrary to incorrect information, we note that the IDF's withdrawal behind the Yellow Line will only occur when the dismantling (of Hamas weapons) is completed," the peace council writes on X.
The statement was published shortly after a meeting between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and council representative Nickolaj Mladenov.
A spokesman for Netanyahu has previously said that the Gaza plan does not reflect Israel's positions.
