The Israeli military said on Friday that a leader of a terrorist cell in Jenin had been killed. Two more “terrorists” were killed in the attack on a vehicle, according to Israel.
Israel's Shin Bet intelligence service said it had been trying to track the suspected terrorist down for a long time and had chosen to attack the vehicle in which the three were travelling.
The West Bank is partially controlled by the Palestinian Authority. Recently, Israeli settlers in the West Bank have intensified attacks on Palestinian residents.
Israel has sporadically carried out military operations in the West Bank, but has used airstrikes relatively rarely since the war broke out with Hamas, which is labeled a terrorist organization in Gaza, following Hamas' terrorist attacks in October 2023.
