Two more dead hostages have been handed over to Israel by Hamas. At the same time, Israel has returned the remains of 15 dead Palestinians to the Gaza Strip.

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office states at 21.30 that coffins with remains from two hostages have been returned to Israel. The coffins were transported from Gaza by the Red Cross.

The bodies were excavated during Tuesday.

Earlier, the Red Cross announced that 15 dead Palestinians have been transported from Israel to Gaza.

Israel recently identified the latest body handed over by Hamas, on Monday. The 42-year-old Israeli soldier Tal Haimi was killed in the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, and the body was then taken to Gaza, writes Haaretz.

According to the ceasefire agreement, Israel will return 15 dead Palestinians for each dead hostage that Hamas returns. With Tuesday's repatriation, Israel has so far returned a total of 165 bodies, writes AFP. At the same time, remains of 13 hostages held in Gaza have so far been handed over by Hamas.
