The Israeli military confirmed late Wednesday that the Red Cross has handed over a coffin containing the remains of one of the hostages.
The report is confirmed by the Israeli Prime Minister's Office; the remains are being brought from the Gaza Strip to Israel for autopsy and identification.
Of the 28 dead hostages, Hamas, which is labeled a terrorist, has handed over the remains of 21 of them – 19 Israelis, one Thai and one Nepalese – in addition to the remains that were returned on Wednesday.
