"Under the Prime Minister's leadership, the negotiating team in Doha, even at this point, is working to exhaust all possibilities for an agreement – regardless of whether it is according to (USA's envoy Steve) Witkoff's draft or within the framework of ending the war, which would include the release of all hostages, the exile of Hamas terrorists, and the disarmament of the Gaza Strip", it says in a statement.

Negotiations on a ceasefire and a hostage agreement are underway in Qatar.

Hamas is reported to have made the following demands to the Israeli delegation: that Israel withdraws from Gaza and releases its nearly three-month-long blockade of emergency aid to the starving population.

The talks between Israel and Hamas, which are taking place through mediators, broke down earlier in connection with Israel's unilateral breach of the then ceasefire on March 18.

The ongoing Gaza war broke out after Hamas' large-scale attack on October 7, 2023, when over 1,000 people were killed and hostages were taken.
