An American representative claimed on Friday that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard's elite Quds Force launched the plan last year, which was reportedly foiled this year.
"We thank the law enforcement authorities in Mexico for stopping an Iranian-led terrorist network that intended to attack the Israeli ambassador," the Israeli Foreign Ministry wrote in a statement.
Mexico says it is not aware of the matter, several media outlets report, citing a joint statement from the country's foreign and security ministries.
Iran's embassy in Mexico rejected the claims late Friday, calling them "a big lie aimed at damaging the friendly and historical relations between the countries."
