During the night, it was announced that the remains handed over to Israel on Thursday evening belong to 73-year-old Meny Godard, who was killed during the October 7, 2023 attack and was taken dead to Gaza.
This means that three dead hostages now remain in the Gaza Strip – two Israelis and one Thai, Israeli media reports.
The repatriation is part of the US-brokered ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel, which stipulates that Israel will return 15 dead Palestinians for every hostage repatriated.
With Friday's handover, Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza has received 330 dead Palestinians, according to AFP. The bodies are being handed over unidentified.
