The club was reported to the Israel Football Association by the Palestine Football Association in October 2024, leading FIFA to launch an investigation.
At the same time, FIFA announced that no action will be taken against club teams based in the occupied West Bank participating in the Israeli football league. The Palestine Football Association has long been calling for FIFA sanctions on the issue.
