The Gaza war has severely deteriorated the British-Israeli diplomatic relations. Now it is clear that Israeli government representatives will not be invited to the large arms fair DSEI held in Britain in September.

”We can confirm that no Israeli government delegation will be invited to DSEI UK 2025”, it says in a statement from the British Ministry of Defence to AFP.

Israel responds by accusing London of ”deliberate and regrettable” discrimination and announces that no national pavilion will be set up.

However, Israeli companies operating in the defence industry will be allowed to participate in the fair, which is held every other year, according to the British Ministry of Defence.

The United Kingdom has previously stated that it is considering recognizing a Palestinian state. At the end of July, among others, France, Finland, Australia, New Zealand and Canada announced that they intend to recognize Palestine at the opening of the UN General Assembly in September.
