The road that stretches along the Gaza Strip's coast is closed to northbound traffic, announces the Israeli army according to The Times of Israel.

The ban applies from 11 o'clock on Wednesday, Swedish time, and occurs in light of Israel's ongoing offensive in Gaza City. With the closure, the northern Gaza Strip is blocked for people who are in the southern parts.

Palestinians fleeing Gaza City to the south can still use the coastal road al-Rashid, according to the military's Arabic-speaking spokesperson Avichay Adraee.

Meanwhile, Israel's deadly attacks continue. Since midnight, around 15 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza, reports Al Jazeera early on Wednesday, citing information from local hospitals.
