That's what Katz says to his American counterpart Lloyd Austin in a phone call on Wednesday.
"We hope that all hostages will be released, including American citizens," he said, according to a transcript from Katz's office.
The USA, together with Egypt and Qatar, has unsuccessfully tried to mediate an agreement on a ceasefire and the release of hostages between Israel and the terrorist-stamped Hamas for over a year.
During Hamas' attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, around 250 people, mostly Israelis, were taken hostage and brought to Gaza. Around 100 people are still in Gaza, of whom more than 30 are dead, according to the Israeli military.
