According to the newspaper, the Israeli Foreign Ministry believes, among other things, that the two "have consistently acted against Israel in recent years, including by urging that international legal proceedings against Israelis be pursued."
The request was made by Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar.
The ministry further refers to the fact that Sjöstedt and Gedin have on various occasions "made false accusations against Israel, including claims of genocide, deliberate starvation and that children and medical personnel are deliberately exposed to attacks."
