In the nighttime attack on tents in Khan Yunis, two people were killed, one of them a man who worked for a local news agency, reports the civil defense in Hamas-ruled Gaza.

Nine media workers were injured when several tents caught fire in the attack, says spokesperson Mahmud Bassal to the news agency AFP.

According to Israel, the target of the attack was a Hamas terrorist who operated under the guise of a journalist, writes the newspaper Haaretz. The man in question appears in pictures taken during the terrorist attack against Israel on October 7, 2023, claims the military and security service Shin Bet in a joint statement.

Several more people were killed on Monday in Israeli attacks against Dayr al-Balah in central Gaza Strip and against Gaza City in the north. In pictures taken at the sites, destroyed houses and people searching for survivors in the rubble can be seen.
