One has found suspicions out in the country and been able to work further with that, and been able to see that he is suspected in those cases. So therefore I extend the suspicions against him, says prosecutor Daniel Jonsson to the newspaper.
Ismail Abdo has been detained since the beginning of July in Turkey, where he was arrested in a large operation against criminal networks in cooperation with Swedish police. In Sweden, he has been detained in his absence, suspected of serious crimes, including several drug offenses and incitement to attempted murder.
The new suspicions concern, among other things, drug offenses in Uppsala and drug smuggling from Strömstad across the Norwegian border.
I have requested him detained for that and will issue a new arrest warrant, says Jonsson to Aftonbladet.
The gang leader is suspected of several crimes also in Turkey. In connection with the arrest, the Prosecution Authority established that he, due to his Turkish citizenship, will not be extradited to Sweden.
I await what happens in Turkey and if there is an opportunity to get him extradited to Sweden, or if I can hand over my investigation to Turkey, says Daniel Jonsson to Aftonbladet.
