Halim and his daughter were killed in an attack on an apartment building in the city of Baalbek, just over eighty kilometers from Beirut, around midnight, according to the Lebanese NNA.

Palestinian Islamic Jihad is designated a terrorist organization by Israel, the United States and the European Union. The group's goal is to destroy the Israeli state and replace it with an Islamic state. According to Reuters, the group is supported by Iran.

Five more people were reportedly killed in Israeli attacks in Lebanon on Sunday, local authorities said.

At noon on Monday, the Iran-backed Lebanese Shia militia Hezbollah said it had fired drones at a military target in northern Israel.
