Alexander Isak was shut out in Newcastle's loss to West Ham last week, after having scored goals in three consecutive matches beforehand.
Against Crystal Palace, Isak was supposed to get a chance for revenge, but it didn't turn out that way. After just over ten minutes, the Swede received a tackle in a duel with Tyrick Mitchell and then clutched his hip.
After a few minutes, Isak sat down and received treatment, but continued to play.
In the 22nd minute, the 25-year-old gave up due to continued pain and was replaced by Harvey Barnes.
Alexander Isak was previously out of play this autumn with a broken toe and missed matches with both Newcastle and Sweden.
It has been four goals and two assists this club season for the striker.
The match ended 1–1 after Crystal Palace equalized in the 94th minute through Daniel Munoz.
Palace is now in 17th place in the table, Newcastle remains in tenth.
