No easy day at work for Alexander Isak and his Newcastle, who lost 1–4 to Aston Villa.

Aston Villa were eliminated from the Champions League earlier in the week, after losing to Paris Saint-Germain in the quarterfinals.

The Birmingham team seemed to be seeking revenge on Easter evening, when they won against Newcastle with large numbers.

The home team won 4–1 at Villa Park.

Alexander Isak had to leave the pitch with a quarter of an hour left to play, without a goal or assist. Emil Krafth was substituted in at the same time in place of Kieran Trippier.

The match's first goal came directly after kickoff, in minute one, and was scored by Ollie Watkins, who has recently had limited playing time.

Fabian Schär equalized with a header after a cross from Harvey Barnes, and the match went to halftime with the score 1–1.

In the second half, Aston Villa scored three goals in just over ten minutes, including one own goal by Newcastle's Dan Burn.

Aston Villa thereby take a big step towards securing a new European spot, currently in sixth place. Newcastle retain their third place for the time being.
