Against Azerbaijan (3–1) Alexander Isak scored two goals, against Estonia (3–0) it was one for the Swedish football star.
As the Nations League now continues with matches against Slovakia and Estonia for Sweden, the Newcastle striker will however be missing due to a broken toe.
It's no secret that we have many injured players. We will miss him, he is one of the world's best strikers, says national team coach Jon Dahl Tomasson at a press conference.
"Needs to get in shape"
Another important cog that is missing, just like during the previous national team gathering, is midfielder Emil Forsberg, who plays for New York Red Bulls. He has been injured during the autumn and recently made a comeback after a longer absence.
He has been injured for a long time and has just returned, he is extremely good and an experienced player, so now he needs to get in shape in his club. It was a tough decision, but he wanted to stay and build up physically, says Tomasson about the 32-year-old.
Jens Cajuste and Mattias Svanberg are also missing due to injuries.
The team captain returns
At the same time, some familiar names are back in the Swedish squad after being injured. Among them is team captain Victor Nilsson Lindelöf – a welcome comeback, according to Tomasson.
We know how important Victor is, he can be important even if he doesn't play, for he helps the team. Just being around the team can be helpful, says the national team coach.
Robin Olsen is also back after a head injury, and has been selected as one of four goalkeepers for the blue-yellow squad.
