It was the 26-year-old's first Premier League match from the start in Liverpool's jersey – and no success was achieved.
Already after nine minutes, the home team Crystal Palace received a reward and was also the team that controlled the event.
Ismaila Sarr stayed up front on a corner and steered in 1–0. Shortly afterwards, the London team was close to doubling the lead, but then Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson made a superb save.
Liverpool had difficulty getting the game to work during the first half and Isak was not particularly involved in the game. Just before the break, Jean-Philippe Mateta was close to extending the home team's lead, but his shot hit the woodwork.
In the second half, Isak was somewhat more involved in the game, without getting that final touch. In the 84th minute, the Swede was also substituted out.
Liverpool's equalizer would come shortly afterwards through the Italian Federico Chiesa. A goal that many thought would be the last of the match.
Crystal Palace wanted otherwise, and with the last kick of the match, Edward Nketiah was able to push in 2–1 to the home supporters' great jubilation.
”The Reds” still top the Premier League table, despite the first loss of the season, with 15 points out of a maximum of 18.
