Victor Nilsson Lindelöf got the somewhat difficult task of trying to shut down Alexander Isak when Manchester United visited Newcastle.
And indeed, he succeeded with that. But it was a small consolation in the context.
Newcastle didn't need to have the Swede on the scoreboard to roll over the guests, who are in 14th place in the league, anyway.
Instead, it was Isak's attacking colleague, Harvey Barnes, who stole the show at St. James Park with his double goals in the 4–1 win.
But he didn't leave completely pointlessly, when he was substituted in the 78th minute.
Isak offered a dream assist when he elegantly lifted the ball over United's defense line and played forward Sandro Tonali, who made it 1–0 in the 24th minute.
Victor Nilsson Lindelöf played the match out, and in connection with Isak being substituted, a third Swede also entered the pitch in the form of Emil Krafth.
Newcastle's win means that the team climbs up to fourth place in the Premier League. The top five secure Champions League play next season.
