The Italian midfielder scored with a dream goal from a narrow angle and almost from the sideline when Newcastle won 2–1.
A cheeky move that Brentford goalkeeper Mark Flekken was not prepared for.
Alexander Isak concluded the first half by scoring the leading goal – his 20th in the Premier League for the season.
The goal came days after Isak and his team celebrated in front of around 150,000 people in central Newcastle for the title in the league cup – the club's first title in 70 years.
Most attention was given to the Swedish national team striker who became the matchwinner in the cup final.
In the restart of the Premier League, Isak was surprisingly substituted in the 65th minute.
Then, Brentford had just equalized on a penalty since goalkeeper Nick Pope had pulled down Yoane Wissa.
Bryan Mbeumo put the penalty in goal.
But the spectacular winning goal lifted Newcastle to fifth place in the table in the hunt for a Champions League spot.
