Yasin Ayari gave Sweden the lead after just over seven minutes. Then Alexander Isak stepped into the action when he made it 2–0, and in the second half Viktor Gyökeres made it 3–1, and at the end Mattias Svanberg rolled in 4–1.

Isak, who has had an injury-plagued season at Liverpool, praised the team after the big victory and said that the hard work had paid off.

This effort means a lot. It's a different environment here because we're playing for Sweden, for our homeland. It feels incredible, says the 26-year-old and continues:

There are many of us who are World Cup debutants, and to be able to debut in this way is a bit surreal, actually.

Isak on his own efforts:

Like the rest of the team, we're doing well. We got an early goal, which made it a bit easier to play football.

The idea is that he and another world-class striker, Arsenal's Viktor Gyökeres, will carry Sweden's attack. Isak thinks that the collaboration worked well against Tunisia.

We (Gyökeres and I) are supposed to be the difference. We are supposed to counter and do maximum actions and then recover a bit. When the two of us play together, it doesn't mean that we have to play a certain way or anything. The most important thing is that we contribute to the team.
