Isak broke his leg a few days before Christmas. After just over three months, he made a comeback with a short substitute appearance against Paris SG in the first quarter-final of the Champions League.
Shortly after that, another match against Fulham awaited.
Isak played the first half of Liverpool's loss to PSG in the second leg of their quarter-final earlier this week. Now he has been given a new lease of life from the start. Isak had a good chance but couldn't finish.
The 73 minutes on the field were the most Isak has played since his return.
Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk decided the heated derby 2–1 in the 11th minute of added time.
National team captain Graham Potter will name the World Cup squad on May 12.
