Isak's record expensive transfer from Newcastle to Liverpool was completed late last night. The transfer is reported to land at nearly 1.7 billion kronor. This makes the striker the most expensive player in the Premier League and the most expensive in Swedish football.

After the summer's strains between him and Newcastle, an agreement was reached with Liverpool just before the English transfer window closed on Monday.

I'm very excited, very happy and proud to have got this opportunity and I'm really looking forward to putting on the Liverpool jersey.

”High ambitions”

I have high ambitions and hopefully I can match them here. You should aim high and I want to win titles. It's part of why I've come here. I want to win everything that can be won, says Isak in a short interview on Viaplay.

Alexander Isak stepped into training, right on the heels of Ken Sema. The training began with playful exercises and was open to accredited media for 15 minutes.

The national team's media department cannot answer when and if Isak will make himself available to the media.

The national team begins the World Championship qualification on Friday against Slovenia in Ljubljana. On Monday, Kosovo awaits in Pristina.

Latest national team match in March

Isak has not played a match since the spring. He has also not trained collectively since the conflict with Newcastle broke out. According to national team coach Jon Dahl Tomasson, he is currently not a 90-minute player.

Alexander Isak's latest national team match was against Northern Ireland on March 25. Then he scored one of the goals in the 5–1 win. He missed the matches in June against Hungary and Algeria.
