One goes on autopilot and it's just drive, drive, drive, then the body relaxes after the playoffs and that's where it stops, says to SVT.

SVT has been given access to the training and match schedule of the Italian club Conegliano from the 2023-2024 season. It appears that there are only a few spare days in an otherwise packed schedule.

"Very little recovery"

This season, Haak, one of the world's best volleyball players, couldn't go home to Sweden over Christmas and hasn't had any longer consecutive days off since last summer.

When you think about it, we have very little recovery and very little of a normal life, she says.

The intensive schedule is to be reviewed by the European Volleyball Confederation, CEV, and the International Volleyball Federation, FIVB.

We are very concerned about this and will re-evaluate the scheduling problems and focus on the players', says the European Confederation's (CEV) chairman Roko Sikirić to SVT.

The qualification is cancelled

The European Championship qualification in August is cancelled, and the league tournaments Silver League and Golden League will function as European Championship qualification instead. They will also let a player be elected to the CEV board so that active players get a greater voice. And get the league organizations to decrease the number of matches.

For a week ago, Isabelle Haak won the league title with her Italian club. This weekend, they will try to defend their Champions League title with a semifinal on Saturday against Milano. If they win, the final awaits on Sunday.
