Isabella Wranå reaches first senior championship final as Sweden beat Latvia 7-3

Team Isabella Wranå is through to the first championship final of her career. The Swedish women beat Latvia 7–3 in the European Championship semi-final.

It was incredibly fun. It was great to finally make it to the final, Isabella Wranå told SVT.

Isabella Wranå has won Olympic gold (2026) and World Championship gold (2024) with her brother Rasmus Wranå in mixed doubles, but now she can celebrate her first championship gold with her regular team.

Very proud. This is our first senior championship final together, says skip Wranå.

In March, the team - which also includes Linda Stenlund, Maria Larsson, Almida de Val and Moa Dryburgh - won bronze on their World Championship debut in Calgary. Wranå has previously led Sweden to gold and silver at the Junior World Championships.

Sweden got off to a strong start in the semifinals against Latvia, scoring three points in the first end to secure a place in Sunday's European Championship final in Ostrava, Czech Republic.

Of course, it helps that we got that three-pointer in the first end. Then we kept it tight throughout the match.

Latvia managed only one point in the ends when they had the advantage of the last stone. Sweden also stole a point in the third end, and when they scored two in the fifth of eight ends, the victory was never in doubt. They won 7-3.

Switzerland awaits in the European Championship final.

This will be a fantastically fun match, says Isabella Wranå.

Later tonight, the Swedish men's curling team will play Scotland in the European Championship semifinals.
