The perpetrators behind the terrorist attack on a church in Syria's capital Damascus on Sunday belonged to the terrorist group IS, according to Syria's Ministry of the Interior.
At least 25 people were killed and dozens injured in the attack, which was the first of its kind in several years.
A second perpetrator was arrested on Monday when he tried to carry out a similar attack on a Shia shrine in a suburb of Damascus, says a spokesperson for the Ministry of the Interior. He says that a third attack in the capital has also been foiled.
We have carried out raids on IS hideouts and seized weapons and explosives, he says.
