The album is a complement to the new book, he says in an interview with NME.

Welsh describes the music as ”classic Motown and disco influences with modern electronic dance”.

In the new novel ”Men in love” the characters from ”Trainspotting” – Renton, Spud, Sick Boy and Begbie – try to leave heroin behind and instead find love. In the interview, Irvine Welsh says he would like to write a script for a TV series about the gang in the books and that there will also be a musical version of ”Trainspotting” with a premiere next year.

The novel ”Trainspotting” came in 1993.

It has been filmed with Ewan McGregor in the lead role, directed by Danny Boyle. The film was Oscar-nominated in 1997 for best screenplay based on literary work and won three Bafta awards.
